MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING

PRESENT: Charlie Casella, Florence Schroeter, Rose Tavtigian, Debra Arrieta, Gloria Visgilio-Lupi, Pat Jones, Librarian and Tom Rup
EXCUSED ABSENCES: Lisa McMahon, Anthony Foran and Vicky Brinius
CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: The minutes of June 20th, 2011 meeting were approved as submitted
LIBRARIAN’S REPORT/LIBRARY EXPANSION
Pat Jones put together a preliminary fund raising prospectus. Commission members will review and discuss at next meeting.
We broached the idea of incorporating a senior center into the expanded library as 20% of our patrons are over age 65. It may be possible to use a portion of the children’s section for seniors during the school day/week. Expanded parking is a pre-requisite.
NEW BUSINESS—a new commission chairman will be elected at our next meeting.
OLD BUSINESS--none
ADJOURNMENT—the commission adjourned at 8pm.
